First: Switch to a proper JSON encoder, JSON::Any lists them from best to worst:
Cpanel::JSON::XS JSON::XS JSON::PP JSON JSON::DWIW And for the sort feature, test it with Cpanel::JSON::XS and if does not work file an interop issue with https://github.com/rurban/Cpanel-JSON-XS/issues The developer (me) is usually very responsive and it sounds like a worthwhile feature.
