Folks, I want to make sure you're aware of two things. The first is the Sun HPC Software Workshop that's happening in Regensburg, Germany September 7-10. It will be a combination of the annual Grid Engine Workshop, a European Lustre Users Group meeting, and a track devoted to HPC and cloud development and deployment. In addition to the regular workshop content, there will also be zeroth-day deep-dive seminars available. For more information, see http://www/hpcworkshop.com/
The second thing is the Sun HPC Software Student Programming Challenge that was kicked off at ISC '09 in Hamburg. The contest gives students (undergrad and graduate) in Europe the opportunity to compete to develop the highest performance, most scalable parallel distributed hash table implementation. Students may compete in teams of up to 3 people. Members of the willing team will each receive Toshiba laptops and free travel to the HPC Software Workshop in Regensburg where the winners will be officially announced. Other prizes include Apple iPods. For more information, see: http://wikis.sun.com/display/HPCContest/Sun+HPC+Software+Student+Programming+Challenge+ISC+2009 I look forward to seeing you in Regensburg! Thanks, Daniel
