Thanks James. That worked for me too. While I am using USB as my connection rather than ethernet, removing the drivers from the list in 'Printer Properties' seemed to do the trick for me. I unplugged both power and USB cords throughout the process. My calibrations were retained so they are either stored in the printer or in my matching files on the HP support site.
In regard to an earlier post about colour shifts following installation of the new driver, I can confirm that none have appeared in my test prints, at least none that are obvious to simple observation. Objective measurement will follow when I have some spare time. Regarding my query on Canson canvas inking levels, I have found a ink density test file that is used to evaluate each of the available driver settings.
