Hello, I just got a HP 90, running Mac OS, shooting digital and film (which are scanned). I have used so far a Epson 1280 and epson 2200. I wanted a wide printer and read all the positive reviews of the HP. A few comments so far:
- prints on matte (both b&w and color) are a total disgrace compare to those on Epson 2200. This is a big disappointment. - prints on glossy or satin are way better and I believe I may obtain better results compared to the Epson. May! Well my first prints on a color picture was awesome...at first. On close scrutiny, there is at time greenish at time blueish casts on all my pictures! Same with black and white...they are actually blue and white. What is going on? My monitor is properly calibrated and actually using proofing in Photoshop CS2 and selecting the Simulating Paper color option gives a pretty clear idea of what the prints will look like! All this using the stock profiles (downloaded from HP support pages. What is your typical color management? Also what rendering intent do you use? Several reviewers mentioned there is no need to get a RIP, like Imageprint. I tend to disagree based on a few tests with Imageprint trial version. I am just discovering the HP print, I am sure I will love it...but in the meantime I must be doing something wrong or I got a bad sample!
