The printer is based on the 4000 series platform which has been a great
printer for the technical market. It has great speed, processing power and
the reliability is good. The Z6100 will be taking the place of the 5500
series to meet the demand of high volume print environments while the z2100
and 3100 are meant to battle against the Epson and Canon products in the
lower volume photo and fine arts markets. There are plenty of other markets
that the 6100 will be placed in such as Oil & Gas, Graphical Information
Systems (GIS), Reprographic Shops and Architectural Firms. As an HP VIP
reseller I have seen the 5500 go into many places because the speed and 60"
width enabled them to raise their productivity and it looks like the Z6100
will be able to increase it even more.
