The links in your post didn't really work, but the model is the Ultrasharp 2407WFP. Indeed the Dells use the same display as the Apple and Samsung models. They all come from Samsung, actually and the Dell got very good reviews. It's a breeze to work with. If the price difference is not that much, I'd go for the 2707.........;). Here in Europe, they just cost too much. The 2407 costs about €800 before tax. Crazy. In the US it's $570. Anyways.......amongst other things, I do a lot of printing on all sorts of media, but much more on canvas. The monitors have a much larger gamut than the printer on canvas, for example, but if both are profiled correctly, you can accomodate for that difference. I also do sales for designjets and posterjet.......;). I guess that's why I am a bit biased towards it simply because it's simple and powerful.
