I own 2 HP895cxi's, a HP 7440A plotter, and a HP 7475A plotter. I worked on
printers at Texas Instruments in Temple, Texas. I am now retired and work on HP
and Tektronix equipment as a hobby. I have an old CAD package from Schema that
I am trying to revive. HP plotter is one of the plotter options.
My HP 7440A seems to work except for the load paper function. When I place a
sheet of paper on the platten and press the load button, the plotter grabs the
sheet and rolls it forward off the machine. I have a HP 7440A users manual and
it does not address this problem. I have found a white slot embedded in the
platten that appears to be an optical paper sensor but removing the case does
not reveal an easy way to check the sensor.
I have ordered a set of user and service manuals for the HP 7475A and am
hoping it will be simular enough to help. Any advice and or schematics would be
greatly appreciated. If I have the wrong group, please advise me where to go.
