The option that works best for me so far is, using the HP DesignJet
RIP (Scanvec):
- Convert the b/w image to the Adobe RGB color space.
- place it on a new InDesign document
- print using these print settings in Indesign:
Output / Color: "Composite Leave Unchanged",
Color Management / Color Handling: "PostScript Printer Determines
Color"
- and in the RIP select "Print in grayscale".
All other ways I tried I ended up with color casts or light gray
prints. No idea why there is no simpler way; I'd really like to know
the reasons (and a lot more about color management basics!), but on
the other hand, as long as I have got a working option… ;-)
