First of all my company has had 4 of these printers for almost a year.
We print on 80# white smooth text. We print school color items for the
scrapbook industry. As you know the school colors need to be correct,
like royal blue & goldenrod, Black & Orange and so on. We have 4
continuous ink systems on the printers, that seems to be working better
than the print cartridges and certainly less expensive.
Trying to keep the colors consisitant on these printers has been a huge
challenge.Every time we think we have it all figured out, we find out
we don't.
1. We always align the printheads to see if any printheads are
malfuntioning. We check for streaks or white spaces in the test sheet.
2. If there are some streaks or white spaces we print a purge test
for each ink color to see if it is streaking or printing solid
consistant color.
Today the purge test was printing solid boxes of color on the
magenta, but the printhead test showed some white spaces in the test
sheet and will not produce a check mark after 3 tests.
Now I am baffled. Any ideas?
