I don¹t have an HP 6100, nor will I. I did post on my review of the Z3100 on
my site a bit about EFI DE for the Z, which also of course works for the
130. I think I remember the drivers for the 6100 were there too on the
latest version.
They did do a lot of things to clean up the bugs, on a quite unusable first
release. Now the program installs, updates correctly, and runs fairly well.
They need to really put someone on it though and fix up the last things.
They were interested in me helping them do that but I can¹t do that type of
stuff for free. It¹s their problem, and they should take care of it
themselves.
I can¹t agree with the statement on colour being accurate, but then I had a
Z3100 and a Z3100 PS. It isn¹t good enough, nor will it pass a validation
visual or measured. I also tried XF, but that is not something that worked
out at all on my Macs or PC. Tons of errors installing, or trying to launch.
I have ImagePrint for the Z3100, or rather many LFP HPs. Their development
is just plain too slow. The program works, and has potential. Where they are
on it who knows.
There is HP EFI which is supported in a loop back to EFI. Then there is the
OEM EFI version which of course supports printers other than HP. The
advantage of the HP DE is the Pantone library which is excellent.
I know of no perfect rip, nor do I know of any source of honest reporting of
rips by reviews totally independent with non lucrative goals.
So choose carefully, and try to find as much user feedback as you can before
buying.
