Thanks Steve Had a feeling it may be memory related - not sure if this can be expanded but no doubt this will be costly. Odd though that I can print a 50+MB A1 300dpi photoshop image, but my 10MB Vectorworks causes issues. Im not quite sure why an inkjet printer needs to hold a large amount of data as it does not have to internally rasterise - maybe I have overlooked a setting?
Unfortunately using a different app is difficult. Vectorworks is a CAD program that is vector based in a proprietary format so alternatives would not be (economically) possible - its not like its a bitmap that can be opened in Photoshop. I could try printing to Acrobat but that has its own issues.
