Hey guys, Thanks for all the help to everyone who has responded in the past few months to my color management questions. I am sorry it took so long but getting ready for the art show, the show itself and now getting over the show, it's been a long few months. Again thanks.
Now on to yet another problem I am having. During the past few months, I decided I need to take the next big step and get a 3rd party RIP for the HP DJ 5000 UV non PS. I know my timing is off getting the rip prior to preparing for a show was not the right thing to do but I felt to get juried in, I need to squeeze an additional benefits of a RIP in order to compete. The main issue I am having is trying to figure out ink splits, ink limits, and linearization of the printer. I didn't know there was such a thing as CMYKLcLm as I have just been using CMYK web swop as the forums have recommended. Does anyone have the designjet 3rd party rip for the 5000 UV non PS? The RIP is user friendly, I have gone through all the tutorials, and even spoke with the author of the Extreme Color Printing color manual. I have devoured the printing bible Mastering Digital Printing by Harald Johnson, the 2nd edition. We have the Color Vision Printer Fix Pro Suite and Spyder Pro but it's not one of the listed spectrometers in the RIP software. I can print out their patches but I can't scan them as it doesn't recognize my stuff. If anyone has approached this issue or any ideas of how to work around it, Please, help! I am lost. Thanks so much.
