I'm trying to print my design portfolio on both sides of 200g/m2 Ilford Gallerie Smooth Heavyweight Paper (matte) using InDesign CS2. I am printing on 13 x 19 paper with crop marks and cutting it to my portfolio size of 11 x 14 since I have several full-bleed images in it.
However, no matter which paper path I use (tray, front manual or rear manual), the page prints skewed by between 1/16" and 1/8" along the leading edge which makes it impossible to print both sides aligned. HP tech support says that if the Maintenance Utility's "Skew" test falls within the indicated tolerance limits (which it somehow does, although the test only applies to letter size paper), there is no way to make the prints more accurate. They tell me I need to buy a "better" model to get more accuracy. I thought I already did that... Has anyone else run across this problem? Have you found any solutions or am I just screwed? Should I switch to Canon or Epson to get a better product??
