They cost about $45. It only takes about 5 minutes to attach it to the front of the printer and it will work just fine with your DJ-130. It attaches to that aluminium rail near where the paper exits the printer.
When the print is finished, the head carriage travels all the way over to the left (as you face the printer), it "grabs" the cutter and drags it across to cut the paper, then it moves again to the left and leaves the cutter parked there. This item is WELL worth the money. I think it is the first thing any owner of the basic DJ-130 should purchase. As far as leaving the paper in the printer, I don't think that will cause any problems with the printer itself; however, the DJ-130 typically leaves very bad roller marks on any paper left in it for an extended period of time. If you leave paper in the printer overnight, expect your next print to have significant roller marks. I don't know anything about third party inks but I know that longevity tests using some third party inks indicate that some of them have very poor resistance to fading. One advantage of genuine HP ink when used on the appropriate paper is that prints can last up to 72 years. So, when I was printing with my DJ-130 I used ONLY HP inks and paper.
