A new film with resolution of 900 lp/mm at 1000:1? Hard to understand this;
we're almost speaking of 0.5 to 1.0 lp/um here!  :-)   
I wonder what the crystalline structure of the film is (if there is a
defined crystalline structure), the crystals would have to be well < 1 um in
size.
 
I'm not sure that any high fraction of that resolution could be actually
used in practice using conventional optics, but it would be very interesting
to try it with conventional lenses and see actual results.  I think the
lenses I own do not produce their claimed resolution; I doubt any of them
would be much over 100 to 125 lp/mm or so at their optimum apertures.   But
most films seem more or less in the 100-ish lp/mm range at 1000:1.  So it
does seems credible, at least on the face of it, that the new film should
show at least "some" visible improvement.
 
Who is making this film?  When/where will it be available?  
 
Might be interesting in 4x5 (if it's less than a few $ per sheet, that is).

10 megapixels, wow! I scan 4x5 film at 85 megpixels(2,200 dpi), 250
meg size file.
This gives a print that far exceeds the sharpness of an optical print
at 24x30 inches.

I'm a sharpness nut and can not tolerate any print that is not razor
sharp. Thus the move to 4x5 film.

BTW- I will be a Beta Tester for new 120 size film with resolution of
900lp/mm at 1,000-to-1 contrast. 340 lp/mm at 16:1. The laws of optics
do not allow the manufacture of a lens that can resolve 900 lp/mm. The
best lens I own can resolve 156 lp/mm at f5.6 on this film.

Any one interested in a B&W film that is this sharp, let me know and I
will keep you updated.
