I've recently been having a problem where I get a fringe of pink on
each of the two opposing sides of the image. For instance:
I print a vertical in portrait mode. It doesn't matter what size nor
what paper. When finished, down both sides of the image I will see a
fringe of pink. If I do a print head cleaning, it goes away.
Thing is, it will do this the first time I print each morning. It
doesn't matter if I leave the printer on continuously. Of course HP
system maintenance tries to discourage me from a print head cleaning
("clean printheads is recommended only if you are experiencing
problems with print quality where you know that printhead cleaning
will help (i.e. banding)."), and I stepped through the troubleshooting
last week only to confirm that clean print heads fixed it.
Any ideas?
