I am having a strange problem with a 44" Z3100 printing out of focus areas of images.
They come out very posterized. Here is an example of the image and a scan of the print: http://ed-cooley.com/z3100problem.jpg the original image is http://ed-cooley.com/shorebirds.jpg. Sharp areas of the image print just fine and the color is dead on. I have an epson 3800 and it renders it fine but the Z3100 looks terrible. It's almost like the driver is trying to bring out detail that is not there. I am using Mac OS X 10.5.2 with the standard driver. I have tried all rendering intents with blackpoint compensation on and off with the same results. Any ideas on how I can fix this? Thanks, Ed --- Edward J.
