Hello Richard:

Upon trying this overnight I've noticed the power supply to the right 
of the printheads seems to get quite warm when left plugged in and we 
all know the enemy of anything electical is heat...Seems this 
continual heat could cause an early failure in that component...Pure 
speculation of course...

This plug in idea is all new to me which is why I asked...I always 
left my old HP 100 unplugged but then again I did have a few 
printhead issues...Nothing that some cleaning didn't cure though...

As always some very interesting responses and thanks to all for 
sharing their experiences...
