The set is in Boston, Massachusetts. This is where notorious Irish Mob "Frank" Costello (Played by Jack Nicholson) sets up his protégé Colin Sullivan (played by Matt Damon) as a spy in the Massachusetts State Police. But at the same time the Masssachusetts State police assign William Costigan Jr. (LeonardoDiCaprio) to infiltrate Costello's gang.
