Hi, the carriage should have no influence on the ISS, I'd start by removing all cartridges and booting without them, check for ink leakage, clean if neccesary, sometimes leaked ink can short circuit the ISS PCA. If the issue is present without cartridges, the ISS is fried, though cleaning and drying it (the PCA and the contacts) might reanimate it.
