Check your print heads, I had the same problem and it was down to dust and fluff that had been picked up on the print heads, especially on the trailing edge. As this fluff passed over freshly printed paper, it was finding any ink that was slow to dry and was just smearing the ink.
This was especially true if I was printing anything that had a lot of heavey black on it as black seems to be the slowest colour to dry. My printer is the 455CA but I suspect that same problem can menifest itself on any plotter that has been exposed to any form of dust. --- In [email protected], "peter inshaw" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> wrote: > > looks like your wiper blades need to be cleaned > the heads are getting built up and this is smearing as the heads go over the > paper edge > look at the sheets and see if the edges curl up at all, even the slightest > bit will cause this. > also, try pulling the heads and cleaning the contacts on thecarriage as well > as the heads themselves with warm water, no alcohol ever. while they are > out, look at where they dock and get in there and clean the seals as best as > able. this should help. > > > Peter Inshaw > president > Plotter Pros, Inc > 1068 The Alameda Suite 100 > San Jose, CA 95126 > 408.299.0680 x12 > 408.299.0676 fax > 408.930.8040 mobile > www.PlotterPros.com > ------------------------------------ Website: http://groups.yahoo.com/group/HPDesignJet_Printers Post message: [email protected] Subscribe: [EMAIL PROTECTED] Unsubscribe: [EMAIL PROTECTED] List owner: [EMAIL PROTECTED] Yahoo!
