Some Debian users are having issues with case sensivity in model names. I did not investigate futher yet (too busy with the OSDL Printing Summit) so it *could* be a Debian bug: we normalize case in PPD file names before installing).
However, hplip should probably be using case-blind compares everywhere when dealing with data coming from the printer, or ppd names. After all that would fixes any potential issues one might have with such things. So I am submiting this bug as a request that case-blind compares be used everywhere when dealing with printer model/ppd fields.
