hi hplip-team well, it's my last attempt to convince you that setting umasks (I saw a lot in the hplip python code) is nonsens. The user can define his own umask for and if he/she don't care they use the system's defaults. only security programs like ssh-keygen save files with hardcoded permission bits.
imagine the discussion on a linux computer in a family with different accounts. " eh, look at our last pictures from the weekend.... D'oh no permission to see your fotos... ah, yeah...top secret, you know.." finally for me I changed the os.umask settings in "unload" script, because commenting out was not sufficient which is surely related to one of the many points where umasks set in the hplip code. best regards harald ------------------------------------------------------------------------- Take Surveys.
