Nothing special needed, arbitrary files plus a cover sheet make hp-sendfax hang on the cover sheet.
I'm able to fax with a coversheet on ubuntu edgy without any errors. Can you also run hp-sendfax -gg and send the log?
"hp-sendfax -gg" does not really produce a debug log, what came out I have attached. In addition,
"*** glibc detected *** python: free(): invalid pointer: 0x085f37f0 ***" appeared on the terminal.
