OK. Works. Just installed missing required snmp and sane (reported by hp-check), then as root set up new printer and printing works. Then removed both snmp and sane. After reboot printing still works. hp-check said my rights/configuration is OK - only snmp and sane was missing. I thought snmp and sane were only required when network/scanning features are needed. But it looks they are needed at ordinary printer setup phase too.
