If you installed this printer via CUPS Add Printer page, make sure you pick Hp PSC 2400 Foomatic/hpijs (recommended) (en) on the Model page. (starting with http://localhost:631/printers) >From what you describe you are seeing, you have not picked the correct HPLIP driver for this printer. Raghu
