First off, make sure that you are using version 5.0+ of Gutten/GIMP Print. There is an issue with versions previous to 5.0 that would cause the output to be too light (incorrect gamma setting). Next, open the print dialog and click "Setup Printer..." For the Printer Make:, choose "Adobe" For the Printer Model, choose "Postscript Level 2" Make sure that "Standard Command" is selected. Then, for "Printer Queue", choose your CUPS installed printer/queue.
