That's very interesting !
That's the first time I hear about a ppd file.
I don't know if I'm using the same ppd file on windows and linux. I'm
not sure I use a ppd file on windows because I suppose
it uses the for printing HP PCL language and not the postscript.
As for Linux, I don't know too.
I found :
/usr/src/hplip-0.8.8/prnt/hpijs/ppd/HP-DeskJet_970C-hpijs.ppd
(but I'm using a newer version of hplip)

and, of course :
/etc/cups/ppd/HP970Cxi.ppd

I don't use the duplexer on either systems. I know there is a difference
on the margins with the duplexer.

The thing is, what I have on my linux conf is the printable area size
given by HP (http://hplip.sourceforge.net/tech_docs/printable_areas.html).
But I'm sure there is something that can be done to use all printable
area that the printer is capable, because it is possible with gimp and
with windows.

As for the ppd file, isn't it possible for me to edit that file a modify
the printable area according to my printer capabilities ?

Thanks
