Dear people, I have Debian Sarge 3.1 in my PC and a HP PSC 1410 connected to the USB port. Yesterday I installed the HPLIP deb package which is version 0.9.2-2 (older than the actual 1.6), and then I configured my printer via Cups interface but the model "PSC 1410" did not appear in the menu. Then I chose Deskjet and New Deskjet but I couldn't print anything.
So, I need to know if I have to uninstall the HPLIP deb package and then install the HPLIP 1.6 tarball, probably with the PSC 1410 model driver. So I ask you: 1) What do you suggest to me in order to make the printer work fine??? 2) What packages do I have to have before installing HPLIP 1.6 ?? Only Cups and libusb ???? 3) Any tutorial for installing HPLIP and all required packages in Debian Sarge ?? Sorry but I'm not an expert, you see. Thanking in advance, greetings !!!
