Have been attempting to print using GIMP.
Info: Fedora Core 5
GIMP 2.2.11
HPLIP 1.6.6a (from source)
CUPs 1.2.1 (from source)
HP DeskJet 5740
HP LaserJet 1220se
Tried following the GIMP print instructions under the HOW-TOs on the
HPLIP web site. First problem there - the "adobe" maker option does not
exist when trying to configure the printer (5740). Selected Postscript
Level 2, found the HP-Deskjet_5740-hpijs,ppd file and copied
to /usr/share/gimp-print/ppds and selected that file under the gimp
print setup.
The output is a single line of ASCII text starting with "%!PS-Adobe-3.0"
and then a lot of form feeds and then I terminate printing.
I can print to a *.ps file and then print that file, but would prefer
printing directly from GIMP.
Ho do I do that.
Using Tomcat but need to do more? Need to support web services, security?
