Good morning Dwayne.

Can you run tail -f /var/log/messages and see if there is anything related to the queue and post that output? As well please turn on cups debug (edit /etc/cups/cupsd.conf and change loglevel to "debug" (not debug2)), then restart cups (/etc/init.d/cups restart) and do a tail -f /var/log/cups/error_log. The idea is to see what the system is doing before/after the queue disappears. You may need to restart and such and then review the log to see what is happening. Hopefully this will point us in the right direction.

Hi, I use hplip 1.6.6a on a Fedora Core 5 machine. Setting up with
hp-setup works well, the only problem being that their is not a PPD file
for HP 3390 printer. But I select one of the others and all works well.
I name the printer and fax queues exactly that, printer and fax

Now the problems:

I I restart the computer it loses the printer queue, but not the fax
queue. Running hp-setup again allows me to setup the printer queue
which now no longer exists, but fails to setup the fax queue as it
exists.

Recently after operating for a length of time the queue again
disappeared, this time unrelated to a reboot.

I trust someone can help me. As this is getting infuriating. The
printer is shared and thus it is difficult for others to get it going
again or even knowing if its broken.
