Silvano,I'm sorry to say but right now our support for slackware is limited. We will be going through slackware in the next few weeks to enhance our support of it. But right now we don't have a slackware system running. I have had success using only hpijs on slackware systems--I hope that might help you.
http://hplip.sourceforge.net/tech_docs/tarball_install.htmland review the HPIJS Portability Reference. As well you will want to ensure you have ghostscript, foomatic, and net-snmp installed.
You may also want to check out this link: http://phil.ipal.org/slackware/public/untested/10.2/Although the files are very much unsupported, if you have experience using these sort of files it may be useful for you.
I will be going over slackware in much detail, but I'm afraid any additional information will be 3-6 weeks out.
Sorry for any inconvenience. Aaron Silvano Catinella wrote:
I am using Slackware 10.2, but I think the problem is not there. I have discovered that hp-tools tells that there is a problem in usb connection. It is very strange because hp-align correctly prints its test-page. I like to be able to check the user space usb-driver that HLIP uses to comunicate with usb-printers. Can you help me? Do you know if the usblib generates logs? Thank you for your time. Regards Silvano --- Aaron J Albright <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> wrote:What distro are you using? I have downloaded recompiled the following softwares without error: PyQt-x11-gpl-3.16 cups-1.2.2 foomatic-db-hpijs-20060823 foomatic-filters-3.0.2 hplip-1.6.7 net-snmp-5.2.3 "cupsd" "hpiod" "hpssd" "hp-check" return no errors. But when I try to print using hplip driver the printes still death. The printer is not broken, because it function very well with other driversinlow resolution, and "hp-align" prints the correct test-page. When I try to print a test-page In the cupsd-log I have found this line: (/...../foomatic-rip) stopped with status 3! Someone has an idea for me??? If the problem is inside foomatic then why it functions with other drivers? And how can I test foomatic? Thank you for your time.
