The old HPOJ sofware is in our RPM package hp-officeJet. The new HPLIP sofware is in our RPM packages hplip and hplip-hpijs since Suse Linux 9.3 (i.e. not in 9.2). Both packages can be installed at the same time on the same system. But their services ptal and hplip cannot run at the same time, see http://en.opensuse.org/SDB:Printer_Configuration_from_SUSE_LINUX_9.3_on and http://en.opensuse.org/SDB:Configuring_Scanners_from_SUSE_LINUX_9.3 As the user has Suse Linux 9.2, he must have a self-compiled HPLIP and then it would be really better to be safe to stop the ptal service and then remove the RPM package hp-officeJet before HPLIP is installed.
