/var/log/messages doesn't show anything but in /var/log/syslog It shows:
Nov 17 00:36:00 dijkstra hpiod: no JetDirect support enabled
Nov 17 00:36:00 dijkstra hpiod: unable to read System::MakeUriFromIP
Nov 17 00:36:00 dijkstra python: hp-makeuri[12814] error: Device not found
