I've been working on updatiing the xandros install instructions, can you tell me how this works for you?
A ------------------------------------------- Pre-Install Considerations Note: The following steps may effect the stability of your Xandros system. You may want to refer to your Xandros documentation and/or other resources on the possible effects. You will need to add the debian repositories to the Xandros '/etc/apt/sources.list' file so that you can install the correct dependencies for HPLIP. Open the /etc/apt/sources.list file as root and add this section: # Standard Debian package sources deb http://ftp.us.debian.org/debian/ stable main non-free contrib deb-src http://ftp.us.debian.org/debian/ stable main non-free contrib deb http://non-us.debian.org/debian-non-US stable/non-US main contrib non-free deb-src http://non-us.debian.org/debian-non-US stable/non-US main contrib non-free Then run: "su apt-get update" Install Dependencies Execute: "apt-get install libcupsys2 libcupsys2-dev build-essential python-dev python gs-esp libusb-dev lsb sane xsane sane-utils python-reportlab python-qt3 libsnmp5-dev openssl libjpeg62-dev" Post-Install Considerations At the end of the HPLIP install process you will run hp-setup to configure your printer. Because of Xandros security configurations you may need to add your user to the '/etc/sudoers' file to run hp-setup. Add this to your /etc/sudoers file: <username> ALL=(ALL) ALL Where <username> is your Xandros user. (You can run 'whoami' to get your username.)
