Hi, I'm a new member here. I planned to make a simple GUI with SDL to
print with CUPS. My printer is HP Laserjet 1022. I'm developing on SuSE
10.0. Now I've a problem to catch print errors. When I use the default
driver (I believe it's foomatic/hpijs) and backend from SuSE there's no
printer error whatsoever. Even when it's out of paper, it will be
recognized as successful. When I asked to CUPS's forum, they said CUPS can
handle error IF the backend and/or the driver can support it. So I decided
to look for the appropriate backend and driver. Actually I haven't tried
HP-LIP just yet. But can errors for my HP 1022 printer (eg. out of paper,
paper jammed, ink status, etc) be recognized by CUPS if I used the newest
HP-LIP? Thanks in advance.

Fare thee well,
Bawenang R. P. P.
