Yes, if 1.6.6 supported it, all future versions will as well.

I don't think that Xandros is yet supported by the installer. You can try it
out, it won't hurt to try. To find out what dependencies you are missing,
extract the tarball into a directory, cd into that directory, and run:

$ python ./check.py

If your distro is not supported, use the list of missing dependencies that
are listed to install them using the method that Xandros provides.
