Strangely, scanning didn't give me any problems. However, when I attempted to
print through the HPLIP printer, the printer display said:
79 Error
Turn off then on
After that, the printer automatically "rebooted" (as you can probably tell from
the logs: you'll notice that a USB device is disconnected and reconnected).
The document never did print but did stay in queue indefinitely as
"Printing...". I cancelled the document, then printed it again in the same
manner. The printer then started blinking the "Ready" LED for about 30 seconds
before it actually started printing. The page looked fine.
Again, this is an absolutely "stock" install of CUPS and HPLIP from the Ubuntu
standard repos.
