On essentially any HP AIO, I have this reset problem.

Using spoolerless print directly to /dev/usb/lp0 with hpijs, all works fine. If
I then invoke hplip to view info, status, scan, all works fine. too. But, upon
exiting hplip (hplip stop), I can no longer print unless I power the unit
off&on, or unplug the USB cable, or put my PC into sleep mode & reawake.

There has to be a more elegant solution. Is there a shell command, I can issue?
My /var/log/messages file shows the problem. Even with hplip off, it has a line
at the end that reads

hpiod 1.6.12 accepting connections at 2208

until I do one of the 3 things listed above.

I want to kill that connection & rescan the USB devices so that the printer
driver will be reloaded automatically.

I built my kernel with no modules so I can not remove USB modules & reinsert.

Thanks for the help.
