I have recently installed hplip on my Gentoo system to drive my HP PSC 1610 scanner/printer. The hplip service is invoked ahead of CUPS and both hpiod and hpssd appear in the boot listing; but hpssd appears to have failed in every subsequent attempt to get hplip running.
I've pasted in some diagnostics below, and would much appreciate some assistance. With thanks Carl Adams. _______________________________________________ Output from #> ./check HP Linux Imaging and Printing System (ver. 0.9.7) Dependency/Version Check Utility ver. 1.0 Copyright (c) 2003-5 Hewlett-Packard Development Company, LP This software comes with ABSOLUTELY NO WARRANTY.
