As far as I can tell, I only have one installation of hpiod on my system, I could find no other.
This is the output of /usr/sbin/hpiod -h # /usr/sbin/hpiod -h HP I/O Backend Daemon 1.6.12 (c) 2003-2005 Copyright Hewlett-Packard Development Company, LP My mistake on the output of /usr/libexec/cups/backend/hp It does detect the printer, regardless of the models.dat configuration. This is the output of /usr/libexec/cups/backend/hp # /usr/libexec/cups/backend/hp direct hp:/usb/psc_1310_series_?serial=CN48IB72SYO2 "HP psc 1310 series " "HP psc 1310 series USB CN48IB72SYO2 HPLIP" "MFG:HP;MDL:psc 1310 series ;CLS:PRINTER;DES:psc 1310 series ;SN:CN48IB72SYO2;" This is the output of hp-probe it does change with the change in models.dat. If this isn't the result you are expecting, warning: check to make sure your devices are properly connected. Scanning still does not work without the underscore after "psc_1310_series" in models.dat (must be "psc_1310_series_" to work which breaks everything else).
