I have an Officejet g85 purchased in October 2002. It is not networked. Everything seems to set up fine: Printer is recognized; I run a print request, and the job shows up in the printer queue; I can configure the printer. Only problem is that nothing actually happens. Print job completes with no actual printing, and the print queue is clean as a whistle. I found this website that claimed to be able to configure the printer remotely. It was able to correctly identify the printer's S/N and futz with some files I didn't understand, so I was very optimistic ... but still nothing. I can't find anything anywhere in the dozen or so forums I've checked, and nothing on IRC, either. Any help would be fantastic. If I could use my printer/scanner/fax, the only reason I'd ever have for selecting "Kill Bill" in the GRUB loader would be for tax software and to activesync my dell axim. (And that is why we have WINE.)
