Hi, I have just downloaded the latest hplip driver and tried to install it. Everything seemed to go well untill we hit issues of rebuilding essential libraries or something. We newbies who are simply trying to get our systems up and running, haven't got into all those things like perl and whatever yet. The site talks about using regular tarballs and all. Huh??? Anyway, I did find that the equivalent printer was a dj3600, which I assume means a desk jet 3600. There wasn't one that came with Ubuntu, so I used the highest 3650 and my printer is working. I thought I'd give you feedback about the automatic install though. The library build near the end of the install errors with error 100, whatever that is. Perhaps a "dumbed down" version of the installer that didn't ask so many questions wouldn't have errored, because I was guessing at my answers most of the time. Billy
