In CUPS' Set Printer Options page, you can select black, color or
combination of the two
in Resolution, Quality, Ink Type, Media Type box.

Subject: [Hplip-help] HP Deskjet 3745 issue

Printer: HP Deskjet 3745
OS: Scientific Linux 4.4 i386
HPLIP version: 1.7.1

The printer has two cartridges. One "Color" and one "Black". However
when printing, only one of the two are used, either the "Color" or the
"Black".

That is, in CUPS, if "Normal (Color cartridge)" printer setting is
enabled, the black colour is printed from the "Color" cartridge and not
from the "Black" cartridge. So, the question is, I can use only one
cartridge from the two, either the "Color", or the "Black"
alone? Isn't it possible to use both at the same time?

Thanks.
