Philippe, make sure you selected hp backend. The device URI should be
hp:/usb/<printer_model_name>?serial=...

I am using Unbutu 6.10.
I have successfully installer HPLIP so that I can print from an
application.
However, when running HP Device Manager that tool does not detect the
printer to add it to the left column that contains the detected devices.
Do I am to do something so that the HP device manager can detect the
printer?
