Run:
su
tail -f /var/log/messages
then
/etc/init.d/hplip restart
post the /var/log/messages
is SElinux disabled?
System > Admin > Security > SELinux
then restart hplip again.
if it still doesn't work run:
cat /etc/host
if you are missing the line:
127.0.0.1 localhost
add it to the top then run:
/etc/init.d/networking restart
/etc/init.d/hplip restart
and all should be well.

connectiion. Also I removed the firewall and nothing changed
