Ed,
I'm not seeing an error per se. Can you run cups in debug mode and send the
cups log? I'm assuming that the problem you are having is that you are
unable to print? Also please run hp-check and post that as well.
To put cups into debug mode edit the /etc/cups/cupsd.conf file change
loglevel to debug save/exit, restart cups (/etc/init.d/cupsys restart)
finally run tail -f /var/log/cups/error_log and print and send the log.

I can reset the printer by unplugging the USB cable and plugging
it in
once again but the same series of errors repeats upon any print
job
attempt.
I thought this was due to the usbcore and usblp modules being
modules so
I compiled them into the kernel and still the same messages.
Any guidance would be great.
