hi Aaron,

as I said (25.06) I'm using SuSE 10.1 - I installed the tarball exactly
as described in your instructions.

1. old daemons from 1.7.4b still running (well that's not really a problem)
2. I couldn't start the toolbox-GUI

Traceback (most recent call last):
  File "/usr/share/hplip/toolbox", line 143, in ?
    hpiod_sock.connect((prop.hpiod_host, prop.hpiod_port))
File "<string>", line 1, in connect
TypeError: an integer is required

3. every scanning process was immediately canceled
4. printing works but produces garbage (more or less) - see the comment
from 25.06

I have no idea but every printout with 2.7.6 is wasted paper. It seems
that something (ppd??) eliminates all text-lines without text (space
lines..)

so you get always a ultra-compact printout instead of the proper format.
These affects also .pdf's. I exported an .odt file to .pdf - same effekt.
