Hello, I would like to inform you of my expirience with my new HP Photosmart C3190. I have done the same tests in both disk partition under GNU/linux: kubuntu dapper 6.06 and mandriva 2007 with the same outcome.
After installing required programs, I downloaded tarball HPLIP 2.7.6 available in your web. Installation process finished with no errors (hp-check reported " No errors or warnings"). I configured the printer by using hp-setup and I choose the PPD file HP-PhotoSmart_C3100-hpijs.ppd. Scanning functions worked well, but printing did not. It printed, but without respecting line-spacings (no paragraphs niether several return carriages). Printer was able to recognize alignement right-left, but no up-down page when printing images. I could solve the problem by utilizing the driver for another printer, concretely those for HP Deskjet 990C. Now, seems to work correctly, scanner included. After looking in your mailing list and google, I did not find similar reports. If you could gave any tip, I will be very grateful. If not, I hope my mail will be useful for you.
