Hi Arnout,

Set the printer as default in cups before you begin.

First test the url works in your browser:

http://server:631/printers/printername

if you have the right url AND the right cups permissions, then the url will
show the printer control panel. Note and Note well that this method genrally
will not work if you have a password set on the printer. If you need
password portection on the printer in cups, then access the printer via
Samba (and RAW Quues)

Now use the url in the printer driver (or access over samba), then select
the best driver from the options below:

1) MS Publisher Image Setter (Found under Generic drivers)
2) Adobe Post Script Driver
<http://www.adobe.com/support/downloads/product.jsp?product=44&platform=Wind
ows>
or
<http://preview.tinyurl.com/e1r>
3) The cups driver
<http://www.cups.org/windows/articles.php?L376+I0+T+M10+P4+Q>
or
<http://preview.tinyurl.com/2d27ao>

Next, go back and set the following options in the MS properties (right
click the printer, select Printer Proerties, then Advanced buttons) for the
Printer:

1) Grahics: Download font as soft font (not subsitutute with device font)
2) document options: Post Script: Optimize Post Script for Portability (not
for speed)
3) document options: Post Script: Download True type fons as Soft Font (not
bitmap font)
4) document options: Post Script: (optional) set the ICS options if you use
ICS

Lastly, if you print allot of line art or other filled items right click on
the printer, select properties, the device poperties, and set thease (if you
are doing serious art, you can skip this along with the ics option above)

5) Replace Grey Text with Post Script Grey
6) Replace Grey Graphics with Post Script Grey

HTH
